The big news this week for the American Windsurfing Tour is that the King himsef Robby Naish has signed up for all the events. This is great for all concerned and I know that the Tour creator and manager Sam Bittner is rather pleased about this. The events now boast some high profile US basesd names. With stops in some great wave riding locations this could turn out to be THE Wave Tour to be on in 2011. Luckily I have already signed up for a couple of the stops, I wish I could do more but work commitments mean that is just not possible. I do plan to fully tour in 2012.
Now the question is who will get Robby in the first round? In many ways that is a win win situation, while you are almost certainly going to exit at that point, it would be a great experience and lets just imagine that you beat him, that would be some serious bragging rights!
For those based in Europe, why don’t you consider a trip over to the US East Coast in September for the Cape Hatteras event? The Outer Banks NC are an extremely remote part of the US and a real experience. I used to live in NC so Hatteras was my local break for a short while and I can’t wait to go back for a visit.
